Law Day is quickly approaching on May 1, with lawyers and judges convening once again to renew their oaths to the U.S. Constitution—but we know this year is different. Despite unprecedented attacks, the importance of the Rule of Law has often remained abstract, unclear, or intangible to Americans who depend on it. Help us change that this Law Day by sharing what the Rule of Law means to you, your family, and your community.
Join the Alliance for American Rule of Law and cylindr magazine in adding our collective voices to the conversation: lawyers, judges, human rights defenders, and advocates of all stripes who care about the strength of our Rule of Law.
We’re building a supporter-driven audio campaign compiling your testimonies, stories, and unique perspectives that can resonate with Americans from our community and beyond. We want to hear from you—what does the Rule of Law mean to you, in practice? Is it the assurance that your vote will be duly counted? That our courts will provide you with a fair trial and unbiased justice? That you and your loved ones can move freely in your own communities?
We’re collecting those perspectives in the form of audio notes—anonymized and compiled with the voices of your fellow Rule of Law advocates from across the globe—to be shared in a special Law Day episode of cylindr magazine’s Rule of Law Defenders podcast on May 1, 2026.
We’re also collecting photos to build a video accompaniment to your audio stories. Share photos from your Rule of Law service—in the U.S. or abroad—that can help us give color and form to the lessons you’ve learned and perspectives you’ve gained.

As we approach the 250th anniversary of America’s founding, now it the time to bring our shared values outside of the court room, law textbooks, and political speeches.
